Improve the flow and transitions of this writing using these principles from Strunk's Elements of Style:

1. Keep related words together — don't separate subject from verb or verb from object with long parenthetical expressions 2. Place emphatic words at the end of sentences — the most important word or phrase should come last 3. Use parallel structure for coordinate ideas — express similar ideas in similar form 4. Avoid succession of loose sentences — vary structure, don't string clauses together with 'and', 'but', 'so' 5. Keep to one tense in summaries — don't shift tenses without reason

Reorder sentences or paragraphs as needed for a more logical progression. Each paragraph should begin with a topic sentence that signals what follows. Vary sentence length to create rhythm — short sentences for punch, longer ones for flow.
